The aggravated robbery charge stems from the Dec. 29 robbery of several women in the 1700 block of Duff Drive. Surveillance video captured a black male suspect wearing a dark colored hoodie and distinct flip-flops, Port Arthur Police Det. Mike Hebert said.

The suspect in this video brandished a semi-automatic handgun while robbing the victims of a large sum of money, cell phone and purse. The video was released to local media in an effort to identify the suspect. Then, on Jan. 29, Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas reportedly received a tip identifying Chance Ratcliff as the suspect in the aggravated robbery.

He was also a suspect in the Aug. 1, 2018 theft at a game room in the 1300 block of Ninth Avenue.

Surveillance video of the incident showed the suspect wearing a T-shirt, shorts and distinct flip-flops enter the business and walk up to a desk. Police said the suspect asked the clerk for change for a $20 bill, then grabbed a large amount of cash from the clerk and fled.

PAPD detectives and the U.S. Marshal’s Office have been working together on the case.
