Recently retired NBA champion Kendrick Perkins signed a contract with the BIG3 basketball league.

It is not known which team Perkins will play for. The Beaumont native and 2003 Ozen graduate last played in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers, who waived him last July.

Perkins won the NBA Finals with the Boston Celtics in 2008, his fifth season in the league. He went back to the finals in 2010 with Boston and with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2012.
