On January 10, 2019, Charlie Mitchell, transitioned from this world at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. A Port Arthur native, Charlie was born on February 25, 1942, to the late Mr. Clarence & Mrs. Edna Mitchell.

Charlie Mitchell was a 1962 graduate of Port Arthur’s Abraham Lincoln High School. After graduating high school, Charlie aka “The Mayor” would become employed through the City of Port Arthur, where he worked until he retired.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at New Light Baptist Church, 948 5th Street, Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Park.
