GIRLS SOCCER: Day 1 of Indian Kickoff in books

When Port Neches-Groves hosts its early season girls soccer tournament, the season is in full swing.
PNG’s first game in the Indian Kickoff on Thursday wasn’t going so smooth until the second half, when the Indians connected on two goals to defeat Kelly 2-1.
Breeana Riggs took a loose ball and got past Kelly’s goaltender to fire the tying shot just minutes into the second half. Zoe Scroggs then rebounded a miss of a free kick and gave the Indians the lead they would hang onto.
PNG beat Waller 3-1 in the final match of the evening.
Also in the Indian Kickoff, Memorial dropped its first match Little Cypress-Mauriceville 2-1 and then fell to Jasper 1-0. The Titans are now 3-3-1 on the season.
