Private subdivision up for vote in PN

PORT NECHES — The final plat for a new townhome subdivision is up for vote.

Port Neches City councilmembers are set to discuss and possibly approve the final plat and replats for La Meloreen place subdivision, contingent on satisfactorily addressing a set of issues. The vote will take place during the regular council meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday at city hall, 1005 Merriman St., Port Neches.

The land for the proposed private subdivision is located between BBVA Compass Bank and Summer’s Abbey Flooring on Nall Street.

The developer is Ahmad Hendiani who has built other homes in the city, according to information from the city.

In other business, councilmembers will consider closing out of the police station renovations project. The work was included in a 2016 certifications of obligation and was performed by D&R Construction Services Inc.

A change order associated with the issue is for final adjustments and the final payment for the project and releasing of retainage, according to information from the city.

Other agenda items include:

  • Proclamation — Texas Extension Education Association Week.
  • Discuss and take action regarding approval of an ordinance approving the settlement filed in the Entergy Texas Inc. rate proceedings initiated on May 15, 2018.
  • Discuss and take action regarding the approval of appointments to the Port Neches Improvement District Board of Directors.
  • Discuss and take action regarding the approval of the purchase of a garbage truck, sanitation department.
  • Discuss and take action regarding the approval of the purchase of polymer for the water treatment plant.
  • Discuss and take action regarding the approval of an ordinance amending the 2017-2018 fiscal year budget.
