Deloris Gasper Briscoe was born on February 5, 1947 in Port Arthur . She was a resident of Port Arthur for 71 years. .
Deloris attended Abraham Lincoln High School.
Deloris worked for Nederland High School as a custodian for 25 years. She also volunteered for the Foster Grand Parents program at Wheatley School of Early Childhood Programs.
She was preceded in death by her mother Odeila Jones, brother, Lawrence Gasper, Jr.; and son, Alvin Briscoe Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her father Joe Jones (Jessie) Port Arthur, Texas; children, Pamela Marie Broussard of Port Arthur, Texas, Patrina Latrice Briscoe of Houston, Texas, Anthony Dwight Briscoe (Tina) of Houston, TX, Samantha Denise Briscoe (Van) of Port Arthur, Texas; three sisters, Cynthia Walker of Port Arthur, Texas, Althea Savoie of Arlington, Texas, Gwendolyn Butler (Charlie) of New Orleans, LA, and Kaddie Protho of Chula Vista, California; her two favorite aunts, Ruby Garner and Kallie Scott; seven grandchildren, Elliott Broussard, Justin Broussard, Aaron Briscoe, Derrick Rahming, Tyra Briscoe, Dani Willis, and Jaylan Jordan; three sister in-laws; Willie Mae Wiltz, Marion Briscoe and Norma Briscoe and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation is scheduled Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at
Shilo Baptist Church, 1725 Bluebonnet Ave. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. also at the church. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
