DPS said in an issued statement that due to wet road conditions, the patrol unit was rear-ended by a 2014 Chevrolet passenger vehicle.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 44-year-old Donna Stewart of Orange, and her passenger were both transported to Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.  Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The DPS Trooper was also transported by ambulance to Baptist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
