A school bus accident left no students hurt Friday.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. Friday, a school bus with Port Arthur Independent School District ended up on the grass on the 3200 block of Ninth Avenue.

“The bus driver was reaching for something, and when she looked up she was off the road,” PAISD Director of Transportation Esther Chapman said.

The six high school students aboard the bus and the bus driver suffered no injuries. The bus aide was sent to a doctor to be checked out.

“The aide was just a little shook up,” Chapman said. “So we wanted her to be checked out just to be on the safe side.”

The bus was en route to Memorial High School.
