Junious McCall

Junious McCall was born in Lake Charles, LA on February 4, 1928 to the late Henry and Clara Linda McCall.  The family moved to Port Arthur, TX in 1932.  Junious attended Lincoln School.  At the age of 12 years old, he worked at Roy’s Bakery Shop.  Residing in Port Arthur, TX for 86 years, Junious was called home on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at home.

In 1946, he became a merchant seaman and retired in 1952.  That same year, he joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1954.  He returned to work as a merchant seaman and retired in 1978.  He later joined AFL CIO American Labor union, where retired in the early nineteen nineties.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence McCall, Edward McCall, Leroy McCall and grandson Antonio McCall.

Junious is survived by his daughters, Yvette McCall (Gary), Alexis McCall (Corey); son, Jonas McCall (Casandra); Sparkle (Kevin), Cleveland Thomas; his brother, Clarence James McCall (Irene); grandchildren, Silas McCall, Darian, Darious, Darvin, Rubin, Deondra McCall, JaKobie McCall, Altantis Thomas, MarYonni Scypion, Alexandria Thomas, Jasmine McCall, Makaylah Jefferson, Brandon Drake, Luxurie Jefferson; one favorite aunt, Julia Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 12 noon until service time.  Burial will be 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
