Rosa Belle Fontenot

Rosa Belle Fontenot, 90, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Belle was born December 8, 1927 in Ville Platte, Louisiana to the late Eddie Fontenot and Mazzie Pitre Soileau. Belle was a devout catholic and a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. Belle loved to travel around the country on tour buses and camping with her husband. Belle had a love for Cajun and country music.

Belle was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Marshall Soileau; two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Willis Fontenot; children, Beverly Nixson and her husband Frank of Port Neches; Debra Holberg of Nederland; Susan Singleton and her husband Bryan of Nederland; Kevin Fontenot of Port Arthur; and Milissa Fontenot of Port Neches; brother, Harris Soileau and sister, Virgie Prejean. Belle also leaves behind seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends to cherish her memories.

The Fontenot family would like to thank the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Harbor Hospice of Beaumont for the love and care they provided to Belle.

A gathering of friends and family will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 19, 2018, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Memory Garden’s Cemetery.
