Thomas E. Hoyt, 79, of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

He was born on November 20, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Charles O. Hoyt and Creassie Graham Hoyt.

Thomas had lived in Groves for 62 years and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served as Deacon.

He retired from Texaco-Huntsman in Port Arthur after 41 ½ years of service where he worked as an electrician.

Thomas was a member of the Groves Masonic Lodge #1315 and member of IBEW for over 50 years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Church in Groves with Reverend Travis Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

A visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Creassie Graham Hoyt, and brother, Oscar Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Nedra Hoyt of Groves, three sons, Jody Hoyt and wife Dianne of Groves, Dale Hoyt and wife Faye of Groves and Robert Hoyt and wife Kim of Groves, three sisters, Norma Fiacco of St. Augustine, FL, Sarah Roberts and husband Ronnie of Leesville, LA and Barbara Brown of Port Neches, three brothers, Norman Hoyt of Port Neches, Gillom Hoyt of Port Arthur and Rapheal Barton and wife Martha of Conroe, seven grandchildren, Chase Hoyt and wife Melissa, Jason Courville and wife Leah, Kayla Higginbotham and husband Asa, Katie Hoyt and fiancé Hunter Gripp, Zackary Hoyt, Kassidy Hoyt and Jacob Hoyt, nine great grandchildren, Anthony, Caleb, Ava, Roman, Asher, Karleigh, Parker, Jaxon and Jake, many loving nieces and nephews and his “fur buddy” Bruno.
