Rev. James Queen, Jr.

Rev. James Queen Jr., of Beaumont, TX, died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Baptist Hospital. A native of Port Arthur, TX, he was a resident of Beaumont for 25 years. Rev. Queen was a member of The Apostolic Church (Beaumont, TX). He also worked with his wife, as a church planter, over a 10 year period, in Beaumont and Port Arthur. James was a 1980 graduate of Lincoln High School, a 1984 and 1988 graduate of Lamar University, and University of Phoenix in 2007. With a passion for the energy industry, he worked for 6 years at Unocal, then spent the remainder of his career at ExxonMobil, working both domestically and abroad, retiring in 2017.
A visitation is scheduled from noon until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018, at The Apostolic Church. Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m., at the church, with Rev. Donald Bearce officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Park, under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
Survivors include his 2 daughters, Candace Queen, Chicago, IL and Alisha Queen, Katy, TX; his father, James Queen Sr. of Port Arthur, TX, and his mother, Annie Ruth Queen of Fort Worth, TX; 2 sisters, Carol Queen of Fort Worth, TX and Rochelle Queen of Las Vegas, NV; 2 brothers, Carless Queen and Adrian Queen of Las Vegas, NV; A tribe of his wife’s siblings, that he loved as his own, Lena Mina of Katy, TX, Dorothy Long, Eunice Richard, Doris Harris, Angela Garcia, Gerald Harris, and Clifton Harris of Port Arthur, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
