Derek Scott Marshall, 46, was accused of entering the Jack in the Box restaurant at 7380 Highway 105 at 1:48 a.m. and robbing two female employees at gunpoint.

Police said the employees were unable to open the safe without a manager so the suspect robbed them of personal possessions, including their cell phones and additional items.

The suspect fled on foot, police said, and was sighted in the 7200 block of Highway 105. Police caught him after a foot chase through a field. They recovered a handgun and items reported stolen.

Marshall was transported to Jefferson County Jail and booked for two counts of aggravated robbery, evading arrest/detention with a previous conviction, possession of a firearm by a felon and a warrant for Class B theft.

No bond was set Wednesday morning.
