A.L. “Whitt” Whittredge, 90, of Groves, Texas passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018.

A.L. was born December 16, 1927 in Houston, Texas to Captain Bill Whittredge and Fern Thompson Whittredge. He was a resident of Groves for 40 years and retired as an operator from Fina Refinery.

A.L. was a longtime member of Cosmopolitan Lodge #872, and 40 year board member of the Golden Triangle Federal Credit Union.

A.L. proudly served with the Military Police in the U. S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Whittredge; brother, Worth Whittredge; and grandson, Robert Whittredge.

Survivors include his children; Jerry Whittredge of Tampa, FL, Dr. Gary “Bo” Whittredge and wife Sheila of Humble, Rodney Reeves, Deborah Reeves and husband Daniel, and Anita Reeves all of Groves; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.

A visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
