Vidor woman dies in two-car collision

A two-vehicle wreck Sunday night claimed the life of one driver and sent the other to a Beaumont hospital with injuries.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said Vivian Townsend Markle, 72, of Vidor was traveling south on FM 105 when her 2008 Ford SUV was in collision with a northbound 1996 Honda driven by Blake Travis Bowen of Vidor. DPS said Bowen’s vehicle crossed the road at a curve and collided with Markle’s near the intersection of 105 and Mansfield Road.
Markle of Vidor, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital but died there of her injuries. Emergency room personnel declared her dead.
Bowen of Vidor, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with unknown injuries.
An investigation continued Monday.
