Louisiana woman dies in motorcycle crash

A DeRidder, Louisiana woman was killed Saturday when her motorcycle left the roadway in Hardin County and she fell from her bike.
According to an issued statement from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Bobbie Leigh Jackson, 30, of DeRidder was southbound on U.S. Highway 96 three miles south of Silsbee around 3 p.m. when her 2013 Harley Davidson left the roadway and traveled onto the shoulder.
Troopers said Jackson tried to recover but overcorrected, causing the driver and a passenger to fall off the motorcycle.
Jackson was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries and was pronounced dead.
Her passenger, a 52-year-old female rom Louisiana, was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries. DPS did not have any updated medical information on the condition of the passenger Monday morning.
Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing helmets.
This crash remained under investigation Monday.
