Cole Girouard drove in a run on a single and Logan LeJeune sacrificed for another, but Lamar failed to overcome an early 3-0 deficit and lost 5-3 to Stephen F. Austin on Friday in Nacogdoches.

Girouard went 2 for 4, connecting for his one-run single in the third inning to put Lamar on the board. Former Port Neches-Groves teammate LeJeune flied out to right field to drive in a run, and Cole Coker scored on a passed ball in the seventh.
Tanner Driskill (5-5) allowed five earned runs on eight hits and struck out five in a complete-game loss. Jake Norton (2-2) threw six strikeouts and held Lamar to one earned run on seven its in seven innings to earn the win for SFA (16-31, 8-17), which stands 12th in the 13-team conference.
