Murphy J. Pickney Jr., 66, of Port Arthur, TX passed away, Saturday May 5, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Murphy was born September 18, 1951 to the late Murphy Pickney Sr. and Alberta Matthews-Pickney in Port Arthur, TX.  Murphy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969 and also, retired from Chevron Phillips Refinery.  He was a devoted member of St. James Catholic Church of Port Arthur.

Murphy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 42 years Beverly Marie Williams-Pickney, two daughters Andria Pickney (Port Arthur, TX), Tracy Pickney (Beaumont, TX); one son, Marlen Pickney (Houston, TX); and three grandchildren Jayla and Kadrien Pickney, and Ethan Fontenette; three brothers Bobby J. Pickney Sr. (Carolyn), Freddie Pickney (Mary), and Lester Pickney (Catherine); two sisters Mary Louise Randle (Bobby) and Phyllis Laurent; a host of nieces and nephews; family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 8 am. Funeral service to follow at 9 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur, TX. Father David Edwards will be officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
