Cecile Cooper

Cecile Cooper, 96, of Groves, Texas passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
Cecile was born November 11, 1921 in Arnaudville, Louisiana to Ignaus DeKerlegand and Odile Naquin DeKerlegand.
She was a lifelong area resident and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society. Cecile was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at St. Mary Hospital and worked in the hospital gift shop for 25 years.
Cecile was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cooper, Sr.; son, Ed Cooper, Jr.; four sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughters, Janice Wright and husband Howard of Bourne, TX, Barbara Gonzales and husband Leo of El Paso, TX, Sandy Borne and husband Norman of Groves, TX, Susan Perkinz and husband Paul of Groves, TX, Phyllis Fuselier and husband Ricky of Houston, TX; son, Gary Cooper and wife Lillian of Madison, AL; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves from 5:00 p.m.-8:00p.m. with at 6:00 p.m. Rosary Service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with Monsignor Kenneth Greig officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
