Helen Bonton-Washington

Helen “Nanny” Bonton-Washington, 80 years young of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on April 20, 2018.   Helen was a native of Evergreen, Louisiana born on February 26, 1938 to parents Willie Bonton and Sadie Franklin-Miller.

Helen was a graduate of Lincoln High School Class of 1956 and retired from the Port Arthur Independent School District. Helen was a member of Eastern Star Baptist Church, an active participant of the following organizations: Port Arthur Chapter of Texas Seniors, The Golden Foxes, The Port Arthur Senior Recreation Center, Salvation Army, Neighborhood Watch Program, and an active, vibrant, and committed volunteer within the Port Arthur community.

Helen is preceded in death by her Father Willie Bonton, her Brother Chester Bonton and her Mother Sadie Franklin-Miller.

Helen is survived by her Daughter Cynthia Jordan-Love of Kansas City, Missouri, Son Anthony Carrier {Pamela} of Hampton, Virginia; Niece Vanessa Bonton-Jones of Beaumont, Texas, and Nephew Kevin Bonton of Sabine Pass, Texas; Grandchildren Aazha Jordan-Eubanks {Brian} of Glendora, California, and Aaran Jordan of Kansas City, Missouri, Jasmine Carrier and De Andre Carrier of Hampton, Virginia; Great Nieces Monique Jones-Williams {Wesley} of Dubai, United of Emirates and Kasey Jones of Houston, Texas.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Procter Street, Port Arthur, TX.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
