In an issued statement, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Nalah Castillo, 22, was charged with possession of cocaine — 10 grams — and her companion, Tyler Womack, 26, was charged with possession of 41/2 ounces of marijuana and driving with an invalid license.

Bond was set at a total of $1,000 for Womack; no bond was set Friday morning for Castillo.

The Sheriff’s Office said the car, driven by Womack, was stopped for traffic violations at the intersection of Twin City Highway and Helena around 5:30 p.m. The vehicle had been under task force surveillance.

A news release said the cocaine was recovered from three plastic bags in Castillo’s coin purse. The marijuana was recovered from the vehicle’s trunk.

The suspects were taken to the Jefferson County correctional facility, where they remained Friday morning.
