Next season, Lamar can look forward to having a connection to the Houston Astros, kind of.

Alvin Community College’s baseball team announced on Twitter Monday that infielder Jean Carlos “J.C.” Correa has committed to Lamar for next season. Correa’s brother, Carlos, is a shortstop for the defending world champions.

J.C. Correa (5-feet-11, 190 pounds) is an infielder from Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, and, like his brother, is productive at the plate. He bats .398 with 25 RBI and 20 runs scored in 31 games while batting third for the Dolphins (21-14, 12-7 in Region XIV South Zone). The younger Correa prepped at the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy.

Carlos Correa had two home runs and drove in nine runs going into Monday’s game against the Minnesota Twins.
