September homicide case cleared by arrest

Port Arthur police have cleared by arrest a 6-month-old murder case at Villa Main Apartments.
Arrest warrant information revealed Abraham Emanuel Washington, 29, was charged Monday with murder in connection with the Sept. 25 murder of Joseph Da’Mal “Lil-Joe” Lindley, 28, whose last known address was in Beaumont.
Lindley was found at 4 a.m. on Sept. 25 lying unconscious on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head at Villa Main Apartments, 901 Main Ave. He was taken to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, where he died.
Washington is in police custody with bond set at $750,000.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals assisted the Port Arthur Police in the investigation.
Lindley is survived by the mother of his four children — three girls and a boy.
