Martin DePorres Williams “Dinky”

Martin DePorres Williams also known by his childhood name “Dinky” was born August 20, 1955 in Port Arthur, Texas.  Martin answered God’s call to eternal rest on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.  Martin attended Lincoln High School and was a graduate of the class of 1973. Martin attended Lamar University where he received a certification in Broadcasting.

He was employed with Unocal Oil Refinery for many years until his retirement.  Martin was a well-known DJ in his community known as “Dr. Live”.  He also produced a children’s television show locally.

He is preceded in death by his father Raymond Williams, Sr.; a brother, Earnest Lynn Williams, and two sisters, Jacqueline Williams Eaglin and Theodora Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Adeline Williams of Port Arthur, TX; one son Andy Williams of Houston, TX; one step-son, Michael Melancon; five brothers, Ronald Williams (Rose), Raymond Williams, Jr. (Cheryl), Gonzuella Williams (Mary), Clifford Williams and Michael Williams (Pam) all of Port Arthur, TX; his adopted sister Melicent Collins (Brian) of Ohio; a close and dear cousin who was like a sister, Susan Dolphine; and a host of nieces, nephews, and very close family and friends.

Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time.  Rev. David Edwards will officiate.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park
