GROVES — A visit with Peter Cottontail and thousands of trinket filled Easter eggs await children through seven years old during the Groves Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Center’s 25th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.
The fun begins at 10 a.m. at WesGroves Park, 5649 West Washington near the Groves Library.
“This year we have about 3,000 eggs that will likely be gathered up in about 1.5 seconds,” Debbie Snell, administrative assistant for the chamber, said with a laugh.
The park will be divided into three age areas for the children to hunt. Divisions are age three and under, four and five years old, and six and seven years old.
The eggs are filled with small toys and trinkets, and each child receives a ticket for a drawing for prizes after the eggs are found.
Refreshments will be served and Peter Cottontail will be making his rounds, courtesy of Kenny Blanda of Magnolia Manor, who is chairperson of the event. Kyle Hollier of Kyle Hollier Photography will be taking photos. Snell said they are prepared for over 100 participants.
