Suspect arrested in Friday murder at Avery Trace

Bond has been set at $1 million for Walter Stevens Jones, 20, arrested Monday for the murder of Joseph Boudreaux.
Boudreaux, 25, died Friday, the victim of gunshot wounds, after a shooting at Avery Trace Apartments in Port Arthur, 4020 FM 365.
Port Arthur Police Department detectives said the victim was shot numerous times around 12:30 p.m. He was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, where he died.
Investigators identified and located several witnesses who saw the murder and identified the shooter as Jones. An arrest warrant was issued, and Jones was taken into custody without incident.
It was the seventh homicide recorded in Port Arthur in 2018. There were only five murders in Port Arthur in all of 2017.
