BASEBALL: TITANS EVEN DISTRICT RECORD AFTER 8 INNINGS

Riyad Antoine tripled and smacked the game-winning single in the eighth inning, giving Port Arthur Memorial a 4-3 win over Livingston on Friday at home.

Antoine went 2 for 4 with the RBI for the Titans, who are now 1-1 in District 22-5A. But Derek Perez carried the hot bat for the host team, going 4 for 4.

Miguel Martinez, Josue Rodriguez, Van Ellas, David Torres, Colton Mitchell and Adler Kithler each had a hit for Memorial. Martinez and Rodriguez each drove in a run and Kithler doubled.

Kithler started on the mound and held Livingston to two earned runs on four hits in six innings. He struck out four Lions.

Ellas picked up the win, allowing two hits in two innings and striking out one.

Memorial will visit Lumberton on Tuesday.
