Nathan Roy “Buddy”Powell

Nathan Roy “Buddy” Powell, 65, a resident of Moss Bluff passed from this life on March 15, 2018 in the comfort of his home after a long and courageous battle.

He will be remembered as a loving husband and an amazing provider for his family. He graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine’s Academy in Kings Point, New York in 1974. He was a Merchant Marine and later worked for Texaco and then retired as a Port Captain after 28 years of service. He loved reading, playing golf, spending time at the beach, and family Skiing trips to Colorado.

He is predeceased by his parents, Nathan Richard and Norma Louvier Powell.

Nathan is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Alice Thompson Powell, two sons; Joshua Powell of Moss Bluff and Jonah Powell and wife Lori of Ragley, two step-daughters; Dawn Weeks and Katrina Barr and husband Charles both of Colmesneil, TX, four grandchildren: Zackary Hermsen, Zane Hermsen, Gabriel Powell, and Victoria Powell, three sisters; Patty Young and husband Bob, Becky Laborde and husband Kenneth, and Dee Townsend and husband Bubba.

The family will receive visitors in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 11:00 AM until time of service. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau is to officiate. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Warren Texas.
