Mary Ellen Matte Krebs, 94, of Groves, Texas passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at her residence. Mary was born June 19, 1923 in Port Arthur, Texas to Willie and Mary Binagia. Mary was an active member of St. Peters Catholic Church. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Citizens Activity Center in Groves and traveling with her late husband, Florence Krebs.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Binagia and Mary Dattalo Binagia; first husband, John Ralph Matte and second husband, Florence Krebs; 5 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Miller; sons, Darrell Matte and Rick Matte and his wife, Konnie. Mary also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild to cherish her memories.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
