Mary L. Smith, of Port Arthur, Texas died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She was a native of Lafayette, Louisiana and a resident of Port Arthur, Texas for 52 years. She was employed as a care giver and an active member of St. James Catholic Church.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church with Father David Edwards officiating. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Mary is preceded in death by her sister Ethel Mae Robinson; two daughters Elizabeth Satchell and Myrna Lee Williams and son Lee B. Smith, Jr. She leaves cherished memories with her beloved husband Lee B. Smith Sr.; her four daughters, Valeria Washington, Gertrude Smith (Roderick), Betty Joyce Miller, Josephine Steele, (Stephon); two sons, Joseph Smith (Darlene) and Sydney Smith (Phyllis); two nephews, Steven Robertson (Shirley) Kenneth Robertson (Sara); one niece, Sally Francois; five cousins, Mary Doucet, Calvin Doucet, Howard Doucet, Harold Doucet, and Dianna Doucet-Peacock; one brother-in law Eldridge Smith (Earlene); 19 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
