Few details have been released regarding a shooting that sent a man to the hospital Thursday as police continue their investigation.

The victim, a 19-year-old male, was shot in the back and suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and released from Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, according to information from the Port Arthur Police Department.

Police cannot confirm is this was a gang related shooting or a random act of violence.

The incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. in the 1100 block of Liberty Avenue near Thomas Boulevard.
