Murder suspects now face additional charges

Two men facing murder charges for the Jan. 25 shooting death of a Port Arthur man are now facing charges for seriously inuring a woman whose vehicle was struck by the man police say the suspects shot.
David Earl Broadus, 28, and James Joseph Levron, 25, are charged with shooting at Jose Pompas Leal while driving on Memorial Boulevard after a disturbance. As Leal succumbed to his injuries his vehicle continued down the highway and crashed into other vehicles at the intersection of Memorial and 39th Street.
One of those vehicles was driven by Pamela Cichowski, whose vehicle rolled numerous times causing serious bodily injury. Cichowski lost fingers on her left hand and had to undergo several surgeries leaving her permanently disfigured as a result of the crash, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Aggravated assault is a second-degree felony.
