Lawrence Drake, Jr. was born on October 8, 1938 to Lawrence and Lillian Victor Drake.  He was the fourth of thirteen children.  Lawrence was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School Class of 1957.  He was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church in his youth.  Lawrence retired from M & I Electric in Beaumont, TX and known throughout the community for doing electrical work.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nancy Drake; siblings Clarence “Sonny Boy”, Shirley, Lillian, Baby Charlie and Martha; father and mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, all of which he loved dearly.

He is survived by his three children, Wayne (Catherina), Derrick (Vanessa), and Regina and grandfather (Paw-Paw) of four, Taytiana, Britney, Wayne, and Chasity.

In addition to being survived by his children and grandchildren, he is survived by his siblings, Francis, Curley, Willie, Samuel, Mary, Fredy, and Coretta (Cora); two brothers in love, Sharp and Curtis Morris, Jr.; sisters in love, Pamela Ivory and Carolyn Drake; nephews, Terry, Frank, Ken, Kevin, Cory, Damon, Greg, and Drew; nieces, Cherry Nell, Wren, Nelvetha, Rhonda, Trina, LaWonda (Renee), Sharon, Adriana, Jodi, Monica, Toni, Melanie, Jackie, Kim, Kam, Lillian, Isa, Tabitha, Sjolander, Yolanda, Relanda, Deadra (Dede), Taunjarena (Taunja), Dawn, Deborah, and Sparkle; as well as a host of great and great-great nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Thomas Blvd. Church of Christ with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak.
