SOFTBALL: PNG takes two at Clear Creek

LEAGUE CITY — Port Neches-Groves totaled 26 hits in two softball victories Thursday in the Clear Creek ISD tournament.

In a 9-4 win over Clear Springs, Kaitlyn Boudreaux doubled twice, scored two runs and drove in a run. Cameron Niedenthal and Taylor Dominguez, both of whom went for 2 for 3, also doubled, with Dominguez driving in two runs.

Callie Jourdan went 3 for 4 with two runs scored. Bayja Newby and Kasidee Sartin each had two hits, with Sartin driving in three runs and Newby one.

In PNG’s 7-4 win over Dickinson, Sartin went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs batted in, and Boudreaux lined two hits with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Hannah Denman (double, two runs) and Hammersmith (RBI, run) each lined two hits, with Lauren James, Jourdan, Newby (double, RBI) and Niedenthal (RBI) each adding a hit.

PNG will play Clear Creek at 10 a.m. and North Shore at 2 p.m.
