Municipal Development Districts in Southeast Texas

Some Southeast Texas counties have been using Municipal Development Districts for several years for a variety of purposes. Those counties are:
Chambers County
- Anahuac MDD is a Special Purpose District with a tax rate of 0.005 per $100 of valuation and was implemented on Oct. 1, 2008.
- Baytown Crime Control and Prevention District is a citywide SPD with a tax rate of 0.001250 per $100 of valuation and was implemented on Oct. 1, 2006.
- Baytown Fire Control, Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District is a citywide SPD with a tax rate of 0.001250 per $100 of valuation and was implemented on Oct. 1, 2006.
- Chamber County Emergency Services District No. 1 is an SPD with a tax rate of 0.006250 per $100 valuation and was implemented on April, 1, 2011.
- Chambers County Health Services is a countywide SPD with a tax rate of 0.005 per $100 valuation and was implemented on April 1, 2001.
- Winnie-Stowell Hospital District is a countywide SPD with a tax rate of 0.0075 per $100 of valuation and was implemented on Jan. 1, 2005.
Hardin County
- Hardin County ESD 2 is an SPD with a tax rate of 0.02 per $100 of valuation and was implemented Oct. 1, 2010.
- Hardin County ESD 6 is an SPD with a tax rate of 0.02 per $100 valuation and was implemented April 1, 2016.
Jasper County
- Jasper County Development District No. 1 is an SPD with a tax rate of 0.005 per $100 of valuation and was implemented on Oct. 1, 2016.
Liberty County
- Liberty County ESD 7 is an SPD with a tax rate of 0.005 per $100 of valuation and was implemented on Oct. 1, 2016.
Orange County
- Orange County ESD 3 is an SPD with a tax rate of 0.015 per $100 of valuation and was implemented on Oct. 1, 2009.
Tyler County
- Tyler County ESD 2 is an SPD with a tax rate of 0.015 per $100 valuation and was implemented on April 1, 2017.
