FORT WORTH — It’s like being considered for the Heisman Trophy, except the sport is golf.

Braden Bailey of Groves has been added to the watch list of the Ben Hogan Award, presented to the best men’s collegiate golfer across all three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and NJCAA. All college and amateur competitions between June 2017 and May 2018 are taken into account by the award’s selection committee.

The watch list will be trimmed to 10 semifinalists on April 11, with three finalists to be named May 2. Those finalists will attend a black-tie dinner at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth on May 21, prior to the start of the PGA tournament at Colonial.
