Bessie Morris, 87, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Autumn Leaves of Clear Lake. Bessie was born February 5, 1931, in Port Arthur, Texas, to the late Glasper and Edith Jinks. She was an active member of First Christian Church of Port Arthur. Bessie was an intelligent individual who enjoyed playing the ukulele in a Bluegrass Band and bowling. After her retirement she enjoyed fishing and camping.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, Glasper Leonard Jinks and Edith Susanna Gambrell Bonin; and her husband, Marvin L. Morris. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Murphy and her husband, Larry, and Rhona Brink and husband, Andy; sisters, Donna Boneau and Geneva Boyer. She also leaves behind grandchildren: Elizabeth, Gregory, Jonathan, Cassie, Shawn, Angela and Michael; great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Drake, Luke and Rio; and one expected great-great grandchild to cherish her memories.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday, February 9, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 2:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
