New England Patriots linebacker Elandon Roberts underwent X-rays, which were negative, on his injured ribs following Saturday’s 27-23 preseason loss to the Houston Texans in NRG Stadium.

Roberts, a second-year pro from Port Arthur, was injured during the second half of the game. NFL.com reported Roberts is bruised at the ribs, citing an informed source.

Whether Roberts, who emerged as a starter late during last season and won Super Bowl 51 in Houston, will miss any action in the foreseeable future has not yet been determined.
