BEAUMONT — Kelso Peskin scored one goal and added two assists to power a balanced attack as the Lamar Cardinals rolled to a 6-0 win over Southern in the season opener for both teams at the LU Soccer Complex on Friday night.

Six players scored a goal for the Cardinals, who improved to 5-0 all-time vs. the Jaguars. Peskin, Lucy Ashworth, Laura Parra and Port Neches-Groves graduate Hailey Loupe each scored their first career goal for LU, while Samantha Moreno and Jordan Mulnix also tallied for LU.

“It’s good to see such a balanced attack,” LU coach Steve Holeman said. “We have a much deeper team than we did last season.”
