Former Ozen coach Marquis Saveat has been hired as a ninth-grade physical education instructor and will help with the boys basketball team at Port Arthur Memorial this school year, head coach Kenneth Coleman confirmed Friday.

Saveat had been the boys basketball coach since the middle of the 2008-09 season. He led Ozen to a runner-up finish to Lancaster in Class 5A in 2015.

Memorial head coach Kenneth Coleman said he could not pass up on the opportunity to add Saveat’s expertise to the staff.
