Motiva confirmed that an incident involving a contractor happened Wednesday at the Port Arthur refinery.

The contractor is received medical care and an investigation into the incident is underway, according to a press release from Motiva.

“The safety of our people and the community is at the core of our operations,” Greg Lucchesi, general manager of the Port Arthur Refinery, said. “The Motiva family is saddened by this event and we will never accept that injuries are a part of normal operations.”
