Annie Mae Chaisson Cooper

Annie M. Cooper, 92, 70 years resident of Port Arthur, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, July 28, 2017.  She was native of Lafayette, Louisiana. She was born the second child of eight children to the late Moise Chaisson and Orelia Francis Chaisson.  Annie is preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Jr. and George Chaisson, and two sisters, Rosa B. DeRouselle and Mary Domingue.  Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Friendship C.O.G.I.C., Port Arthur, TX. 

She leaves to cherish her memories one foster son, Terry Wayne Chaisson (Reba) of Flossmoor, IL; two foster grandsons, Brandon Chaisson of Chicago, IL, and Chris Alexander Chiasson of Los Angeles, CA; one great granddaughter, Abella Chaisson of Chicago, IL; one brother, Paul W. Chaisson (Abbie); two sisters, Delores Mouton and Evora Broussard all of Lafayette, LA; nieces and nephews, including one priest, Father Jason Thomas Mouton – pastor of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Youngsville, LA; two godsons, George (Tim) Chaission of Washington, D.C. and Patrick McZeal of Lafayette, LA; a paramedic, RNs, LVNs, Medication Aids, etc.; members of the Friendship C. O. G. I. C., including her life-long friend, Mother Dorothy Heath; goddaughter, Carolyn Foster (Joseph, Sr.); Texas Southwest Jurisdiction, and a host of other family and friends.

A wake will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2017 at Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church, 3755 Fannett Road, Beaumont, TX.  Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church with Bishop Samuel E. Iglehart officiating.  Entombment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
