BPD responds to fatal shooting

BEAUMONT — Beaumont Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers responded to the 5000 block of Pine Burr in reference to the shooting and witnesses told police that the victim was walking south on Pine Burr when they said a lone black male approached the victim, according to a press release from the Beaumont Police Department.
Witnesses said they heard multiple shots and the lone male ran west behind a church. The victim was sent to a hospital by EMS and died from his injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male, between 20 to 30 years of age, dark complexion, small, faded afro, white shirt, smoky-gray blue jean type shorts or possibly blue camo type shorts and white tennis shoes.
