Filing heats up in PNGISD race

Filing for a seat on the Port Neches-Groves Independent School District Board of Trustees is heating up with one of the incumbents drawing an opponent.

The Place 7 incumbent Darren McCutcheon has filed for reelection; his opponent is Derek Knepp.

The place 6 incumbent, Rusty Brittain, has filed for reelection and as of Monday afternoon, had not drawn an opponent.

Individuals may pick up candidate packets or return completed applications to the superintendent’s office between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday.  The last day to file an application will be Monday, Aug. 21 and the office will be open for filings from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on that day.
