PAPD investigating infant death

Police are investigating the death of an infant that happened on Sunday.
Shortly after 10 a.m. Port Arthur Police were sent to a home in the 4200 block of 32nd Street in response to an unresponsive 3-month-old baby.
Officers began life saving measures until Port Arthur Fire Department and Acadian EMS arrived on scene and took over.
The infant was transported to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas where a short time later the infant was pronounced deceased, according to a press release from PAPD.
Detectives responded to the scene and spoke with family members.
Up to four PAPD vehicles were at the scene, including a K-9 unit. There were police vehicles at the scene for at least five hours.
The incident remains under investigation.
