Gerald Leo Loupe

Gerald Leo Loupe, 82, of Nederland, died peacefully at home surrounded by family, Sunday, July 30, 2017. He was born on January 27, 1935, in Port Arthur, to Irene McGee and Freddie Leo Loupe.
Gerald graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1953 and retired from Chevron as an electrical supervisor after thirty-three years of service. He enjoyed spending time at his camp at Toledo Bend. Gerald and Lois traveled extensively. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and papa.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Lois Loupe of Nederland; daughters, Lynell Landry and her husband, Hank, of Port Neches and Theresa Roberts and her husband, Gary, of New Zealand; sons, Craig Loupe of Friendswood and Glen Loupe and his wife, Vickie, of Oviedo, Florida; grandchildren, Emily, Doug, Shanna, Amanda, Nolan, Dakota, Kayla, and Kaylee; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Rochelle Dillon of Jasper; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Irene Loupe; daughter, Pamela Theresa Loupe; sister, Edna “Snookie” Teal; brother, Robert “Bobby” Loupe; granddaughter, Katie Landry; and grandson, John Paul Landry.
A family Rosary for Mr. Loupe will be recited at 5:30 p.m., with a gathering of his family and friends to follow from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and a Christian Vigil at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with his interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
