Norene Nunez, 90, of Houston, Texas and formerly of Port Neches, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Norene was born July 19, 1927 to James Almond and Dorothy Batson Almond.  She was a resident of Port Neches for eighty years and a member of First United Methodist Church Port Neches and Port Neches Order of the Eastern Star # 677.

Norene was a Dental Assistant for Dr. Carl Bertrand and also worked in Sales at Spencer’s Department Store.

A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

Norene was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Wesley “Stinky” Nunez and her brother, Kenneth Almond.

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Laurie Nunez Phillips and husband Wade from Texas currently residing in Los Angeles, California; two grandchildren, Tracy Phillips and partner Aurelien Bonzon and Wesley Phillips and wife Anna; three great-grandchildren, Ivy Phillips, Mac Phillips, and Minnie Phillips.
