Samuel Dorsey, Jr. of Port Arthur passed on July 17, 2017. He was 82 years old.

Sammy was born May 22, 1936, in Port Arthur, Texas to Samuel Dorsey, Sr. and Rose Ann Dean Dorsey. He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Roseanne.

Throughout his life he enjoyed bowling, skating and teaching swing out. Sammy also enjoyed singing in the choir at New St. John Baptist Church where he was a member.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Vanessa, four children, four siblings, eight grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm at New St. John Baptist Church 1048 Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, Texas with Rev. Claude Comeaux, Jr., Officiating.
