Carmen Rasa

Carmen Rasa, 89, of Groves, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017. She was born on December 31, 1927, in Port Arthur, to Mary Ann Morrell Guarnere and Samuel Vincent Guarnere.
Carmen was a selfless and dedicated mother of eight and grandmother and great-grandmother to many, who instilled family values and faith to her family. This was her legacy. She cooked spaghetti every Sunday with meatballs and her famous suga, to bring her family together each week. These memories will never be forgotten.
Survivors include her children, James E. Rasa, Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Groves; Cynthia Hebert and her husband, A.J., of Brookeland; Virgil Rasa and his wife, Connie, of Sour Lake; Mary Smiley and her husband, David, of LaBelle; Samuel Rasa and his wife, Rhonda, of Brookeland; Debbie Wueller and her husband, Chuck, of Groves; Denise Taylor and her husband, Wade, of Nederland; Ronnie Rasa and his wife, Michelle, of Beaumont; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, Nickie Guarnere and his wife, Annie, of Groves.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Vincent and Kelly Guarnere; and three grandchildren, Jason Rasa, Wes Greer, and Carrie Wueller.
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for making her final days as pleasant as possible.
A gathering of Ms. Rasa’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2006 Nall Street, Port Neches, with her interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
