Anthony Samuel Camerera, 83, of Port Acres passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Magnolia Manor in Groves surrounded by his daughter, Melinda, and granddaughter, Jaclyn.

Anthony was born October 23, 1933 in Port Arthur, Texas to Samuel Joseph Camerera and Anna Marie Camerera. Anthony proudly served his country in the US Army. He retired as a machinist from Texaco after over 40 years of service. He was a 67 year member of the Knights of Columbus and a 43 year member of the American Legion. He was also an avid sportsman and enjoyed many frigid mornings in either the marsh or in a hill country deer blind.

Anthony is survived by his wife, Ruth Camerera of Port Acres; daughter Melinda Tomasello and husband Jude of Oviedo, FL; sister Ann Camerera Arnaud of Port Acres; grandchildren Michael Tomasello and Jaclyn Tomasello of Oviedo, FL; stepdaughter Cynthia Theriot and husband Van of Labelle; and step grandchildren Eric Talbot, Raney Eisenhaur, and Sara Eisenhaur.

A rosary will be recited at 5:00pm on Sunday, July 9th 2017 and visitation will follow from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. The funeral service officiated by Father Rejimon George and will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home on Monday, July 10th at 10:00am with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
